Biointerface Symposium 2011
Proteins and Cells at the Biointerface
A symposium honoring the
leadership and contributions of
Professor Thomas A. Horbett
Department of Bioengineering & Department of Chemical Engineering,
University of Washington
The Symposium is over.
Thanks to all the attendees and speakers.
In 1970, when Tom Horbett launched his research on proteins and cells at biomaterial surfaces, there was little published on the subject, and techniques for handling and measuring proteins and cells in this bioengineering context hardly existed. Tom Horbett's rigorous scientific approach and seminal contributions to this endeavor have been key to the development of this modern field with thousands of researchers, thousands of papers published each year and huge economic and medical importance.
Thank you to our sponsors.
