Project overview:
Design of degradable hyaluronic acid hydrogels for wound healing and wound regeneration. Engineering of hydrogel for control of degradation and swelling. Incorporation of growth factors and peptide sequences to direct cell growth, enzymatic degradation, and cell binding.

Skills: Chemistry:
Chemical modification of polysaccharides, free radical polymerization, ion exchange, column separations, distillation/purification of solvents, anhydrous reactions, hydrogels, polyelectrolyte complexes
Biology:
Isolation and culture of primary human monocytes
Instruments/Assays:
SPR, proton NMR, GPC, light and fluorescence Microscopy, UV/Vis, ToF-SIMS, XPS, ELISA, various cytotoxicity assays
