Email: Send Message

Advisor: Shaoyi Jiang/Buddy Ratner

Department/status: Bioengineering, 4th year PhD student

Project overview:
To control protein orientation/conformation on surfaces via chemical or biological approaches for cell adhesion/wound healing/biomaterials and to identify the interactions among extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins.

Skills:

  • Surface modification (e.g., formation of self-assembled monolayers)
  • Immobilzation of protein on surfaces (physically or chemically)
  • Surface characterization (e.g, AFM and ESCA)
  • Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensor
  • cell culture

Relevant honors or funding:
Lingyun Liu was one of the two recipients of the David J. Lee Student Poster Award at the 2003 Surfaces in Biomaterials Foundation meeting in Savannah, Georgia. The title of her poster was "Controlling Osteopontin Behavior on Surfaces for Endothelial Cell Adhesion."
